Nina--just watched this in my UCSC Religion and Art in SOuth Asia class. This is absolutely beautiful! I laughed, I cried, I threw popcorn at Dave and Rama.

I remember when you briefly lived here in Santa Cruz and your Nina's Adventures in SC cartoon, and meeting you once at City Lights Books. Inspired to see what you've gone on to do since...1992! :)

While I understand some of the issues that have led to the formation of a kind of fundamentalist Hindu set, I have to say...One would think Hindus would be the LAST religion on earth to form such close-minded attitudes--these are the province of monotheistic 'white man's' religion. Westerners love Hinduism because it's NOT like that. After 200 years of colonialism...DON"T BE LIKE WESTERNERS NOW.Please. It hasn't worked so well for us either, so take a lesson from us.
