Academy Award winning actress Meryl Streep traveled to Washington, DC, in her role as spokesperson for the National Women's History Museum. The museum, which currently exists solely online, is looking for a permanent home on the national mall, pending congressional approval. Streep sat down with To the Contrary to discuss her latest role and why this museum is so important to her.

  • Every man on Earth came from his mother's womb. Until this basic fact of life is honored, nothing will ever change. Furthermore, the first homo erectus is known to be a woman, so why is this so difficult to teach our children. Justice, equality and respect through example for a more positive future, now.

  • @lizabanana2 I know, where does she get that energy from? She's like a wizard, at one point she's in america, the next in england and then all of a sudden she's in China. Crazy, but she is still the best!!

  • SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL

  • @rinoaangel08 In fact it's, " Hear hear"

  • Meryl is so great!

  • Call me naive, and I'm sure some will, but why is this even having to go through Congress? Women have always made up 50% of the population and their contribution throughout History has been invaluable. So why do some people insist on treating women as the largest 'minority group' on the planet? Come on Congress, get this 'motion' passed,RIGHT NOW!

  • @rriverstone1 ,

    Why not?! Works for me!

  • If anyone can make it happen,it's Meryl Streep.

  • sexual discrimination?

Maggie Thatcher, along with Milton Friedman and Ron Reagan, destroyed the planet

  • She's everywhere, London, Washington, Beijing. Wish I had her energy
