Doesn't happen often (probably never before): Nonstop service from AKL to LAS. And not once but twice in one day. This is ANZ#1016. #1014 landed 1.5 hrs after.

  • haha I absolutely should have stood on those people's truck with them.

  • You're absolutely right. I believe these flights were to celebrate Grabaseat's 5th anniversary. It was originally going to be just one but they sold so many they started reservations for the second. Grabaseat is a "budget" subsidiary of AirNZ.

  • @happik It is pretty rare to see a AIRNZ in Las vegas.

  • That was only a one time those flights. Air NZ had something on and decided to fly 2 747's to Vegas. I remember reading that on their website if you want to know the full story.

  • If there was ever a time to ask someone 'can I stand on your truck'..that was it. lol

Regardless, that was a great effort to catch this rare sight indeed..I'm glad someone went out to video it!
