@LunaVorax not sure about "genius" i can be pretty dumb sometimes, i promise you! but thanks. this breadboard computer has really been coming along the past few days. the big thing i'm working on right now is functionality of the monitor firmware. i want it to be similar to the apple ][-series monitor.
until i work out some form of permanent storage for it (most likely an SD card or something) i was going to make it able to download a binary image into RAM from the laptop.
@whiteoreoxx thank you! when it's all finished i am planning on releasing schematics. it's dead simple to build really. and yeah i know that laptop has seen better days. :)
it's an old 486 laptop (with built-in printer!).. didn't want to use a more recent one in case i cross a wire and melt it's parallel port. :P
