instead of putting your device in DFU... try putting it in restore mode... so instead of pressing the power and home button after you've switch off your device,,, press and hold the home button then plug your cable at the butt of your device... until it shows up the "cable connect to itunes" logo... open itunes.. click restore and so on..

hey i have a problem on my 16GB iphone. when someone ring me i cant hear anything unless i unlock the phone and see a missed call or a sms. 2nd is that when i go into setting to activate the wifi i cant see anything there.

I have a 3GS iPhone and finally jailbroke it after a very frustrating night. I originally had 3.1 iPhone firmware (the phone was brand new, just out of the box) with old bootrom. I got the 1600 error message with Pwnage 3.1.3 trying to restore with its custom 3.1 iPhone firmware, but with 3.1.5 of Pwnage I was able to jailbreak using a custom restore using 3.1.3 iPhone firmware (even though I started with iPhone 3.1 firmware). Thanks for your help, couldn't have done it without you!

I got a 1600 error code. i researched & didnt do the restore in dfu mode. i did it in normal mode 7 was able to jb to IOS 4.0.
