Jack Whittle - 1st alto Jamie Craine - 2nd alto John Barnes - tenor sax. Will Pollalis - Baritone sax. rival quartet to ours playing "Adagio and Allegro" at issma gold rating of course! see 'em at state soon
our schools quartet is playing this, our director told us that there is a misprint, and the adagio is supposed to be a bit faster. but you play the allegro at about the same speed as we do, sounded great! i can't wait to take this to contest next week.
On allegro, Your playing well, but this is HANDEL. This piece was written WAYY back before the saxophone was even invented and Handel composed his pieces for string instruments, so use a somewhat of a staccato, short but not too short.
actually the adagio should be slower, the 8th note is at 88, which is extremely slow and drawn out, but yea the allegro should definitely be alot faster, when i played it in my quartet we played it around 160 or so, its not whats called but sounds good. also stop with the staccato on repeating 8th notes, especially in the bari part, it should all be legato
i played this at solo and ensamble also, my group got a 1. the sheet music had a miss print on the tempo of both adagio and the allegro
the adagio should be alot faster, and the allegro should be a little faster, hopefully my group will put this piece on to.and good job bari on the 16th notes, its hard. i also play bari
