I am a nurse and would never in my wildest dreams talk to radiology like this. We all have our areas of expertise and should not be meddling with departments that we have no clue about. I really am enjoying these!
I had seen this before, along with a lot of other videos listed to the right of this, but it always cracks me up! Not only do some nurses don't have a "clue", but let's not forget those doctors' and residents! People think because they have a degree in the medical field they know all there is to know about every department and how every piece of equipment works! I think it should be mandatory for all employees (especially residents) to watch a safety video. Let's save the world and do an MRI!!!!
I am also an MRI tech and previously worked at a community hospital. I love this! I was called in countless times for patients with chronic low back pain. I was even called in for a patient that had decided to leave without treatment, but the RN wasn't even aware the patient had left. It's sad!
I work in a major trauma teaching hospital and I cannot believe the type of patients that Dr's order MRI on. Some of the patients are not MRI candidates at all and it seems Doctors and Nurses have no clue as to what is required for a successful MRI. Also there are serious injuries to patients with certain implants and attachments which is why a safety screening must be performed prior to the MRI
I'm an ICU nurse who has worked in ED, and yes, this is very true! You can be a nurse and laugh at stupid behavour, even if it's from your profession.
