This show was just on Speed. Scott Douglass said the bonus judge gave 4 points. I guess to get 5 points Tom has to launch completely out of the stadium and land it in the parking lot.

The "wow moments" others say about Meents is dead on. He's creative, whereas Anderson (Dennis) is straight forward hit everything hard and fast and finish with a rollover. I agree that Dennis is the better "face" for MJ, b/c he comes across as a genuinely nice guy, approachable. Tom seems to have an attitude and not as approachable as Dennis. I can understand that to a point, b/c Tom's won far more Finals trophies than anyone. I greatly respect his driving though.

I agree to an extent about Dennis being the face of Monster Jam, but Tom's attitude on TV is not what you see in the pit parties. He smiles for every single fan and makes it seem like meeting them is special. Dennis (and almost all of the drivers) does the same. They all understand what makes Monster Jam so unique as a sport is the chance to meet and greet. Try to get access to a NASCAR driver or any pro baseball, football or basketball player like that. Not gonna happen.

Dennis Anderson created freestyle and the entire modern version of Monster Jam with his talent and personality. He smiles and talks to every fan at the autograph sessions, even in 90 degree heat in Baltimore. But, he is not the best in the business anymore. Nobody has more consistent "wow moments" on the track like Tom Meentz. He is the current king of both freestyle and racing.
