This is how I trained my son and now he's winning the 65 class and keeps up with me out in the desert. I think I put him on the bike at the same age, or maybe 2+. I used a long tie down strap and hooked it on the fender frame of a JR-50

My son was about 16 months old when he learned to ride a regular bike w/out training wheels. When he was 24 months or 2 years (for those that don't like months) he could ride his dirt bike very well! I was shocked!

@censoredmunky If I would have said "1 year old riding a dirt bike" I would have gotten a ton of comments about how he wasn't 1 lol, this way there's no confusion about how old he is. Anyway, if you have kids you know there's a huge difference between a 1 year old and a 2 year old. Stop being so nit picky, he's little and doing something most kids his age (including his sister and brother) can't do.

@Ponchovillla14 The strap helped, if he wasn't turning and was going toward the road, a tree, etc, we could stop him. I'm glad we're passed that stage though, that was a lot of running!! :) We started our daughter on her 3rd birthday this past Saturday, no strap, and it's much easier lol. Her video is uploading right now.
