On TV, there are many (rumored) gay puppet couples, like Kermit the Frog and Fozzy Bear from the Muppets, Ernie and Bert from Sesame Street, and Nicky and Rod from Avenue Q. Mow we have a new pair of "just friends"; Basil and Root from Johnny and the Sprites! And what better way to initiate them then to make a music video? The song is If You Were Gay, from Avenue Q. The plot and cast is VERY easy to figure out on your own, but here's the cast for those of you who just don't get it;
Basil - Rod (originally played by John Tartaglia, the creator, executive producer, and star of Johnny and the Sprites)
Root - Nicky (originally played by Rick Lyon, the designer for the puppets used in every production of Avenue Q)
I don't own the song, the clips, or either show. The song belongs to the creative team behind Avenue Q, and Johnny and the Sprites belongs to John Tartaglia. If anyone is offended by this, I'm sorry, cause that isn't this video's purpose. And speaking of Purpose, the next video in the Grotto Q series will be Basil's Purpose, coming soon! Please Enjoy, Rate, and Comment!!
