@ZoracYourSuperior: you make some good points... you also have to factor in if one has welded a one ton computer to a one ton rack mount in the back of the vehicle. Apparently some off roaders have been known to do this.

Why do people post the same shit over and over.........I mean there is only one real thing that determines how good a car is off road and that is traction. Engine power has nothing to do with off roading providing the vehicle has enough power to make the wheels spin (i.e.loose traction) then that is sufficient power. And traction is down to tyres and the transmition......i.e. what diff. locks are fitted. Weight plays a role also as friction is directly proportional to vertical reaction (weight).

i think the main problem was the snow condition very close to ice due to small below zero temp.
