Microsoft is turning the whole Windows battleship into an iceberg. If they think that Windows 8 is going to work in the desktop and laptop markets, then they must be on crack.

You are treating this like it is a full, finished OS. This is just for developers to see what basic features are available and gives them an idea of what can be done.

The 'Apps' you are criticizing are only for demo purposes - these are only meant to show some of the basic features of what is possible using the developer tools.

Keep in mind that this is only a Developer Preview (pre-beta) - Win8 is a long way from a finished product.
