@BuckshotLaFunke1 I wish more jazz pianists would take Morton as a pianist more seriously. So many jazz people dismiss him because he was not a virtuosic pianists like James P. or Fats. I fell many people who try to play his compositions don't really get them. Although he influenced other pianists (such as Hines) Morton's importance is his contribution to the jazz piano literature and to the form of jazz.

@pianiplunker Yes, one could say that. More than Tatum, my beloved Teddy Wilson, Bud Powell or the great Erroll Garner. What is your opinion of Jelly Roll Morton?

How is it that I have never heard of Earl Hines??? I love jazz and I literally worship Oscar Peterson, but only just not heard Hines play. He's great!

@gjc82071 Hines may be the most important jazz pianist of all time. His recording of I aint got nobody is sublime.
