The underlying thing here is that we're being sealed off each from the other in our own personal technology bubble, to the point where we no longer have or recognize what used to be called a "public life."

And that is just what the powers that be would like us to believe.

Now, how 'bout getting the goddamned people who think it's OK to KICK the seat of the person in front of them to STOP IT! Then I'd REALLY enjoy going out to a theater again.

@godluvsmormons It's good business. Word of mouth is that Alamo drafthouse rocks!! If you watch the texting ad they play at Alamo you will find out that the woman was asked several times to stop texting. She ignored it and was booted out. Also, if you are having trouble finding your seat in the dark ... don't arrive to the movie late and watch where you are going.

@godluvsmormons You're right, word of mouth makes or breaks a business, and if I lived in that town I would only go to this theater. Too many times have I been told very rude things for asking someone to stop talking or using their cell phone. Just because I showed up to the movie 30 minutes early to get a good seat and have good lighting doesn't mean someone can be inconsiderate, show up late and complain about bad lighting and then yell at me for asking for some consideration of others.

@godluvsmormons If your mother has even a chance of falling down the stairs shouldn't you as a person who loves your mother always be on the stairs so you can catch her just in case there's a chance she might fall? Try living a day without your cell phone. Leave it at home one day and see if you can go through out the day without thinking a loved one is going to die.
