nobody said the horse was stupid :S they were comforting her and supporting her while they tried to get her up.

Horses are bigger than people, when the poor horse fell, she probably hurt something, plus because they are bigger its harder to get up in a confined space, such as the ditch. The horse isn't stupid, how many times have you tripped over nothing or on a rock. hmm?
