A demonstration of a 2 needle cast on for Jeny's stretchy slip knot cast-on. This is just another way of getting the stitches on the needle that I find easier than using a single needle and thumb loop method. This cast on has been developed and demonstrated by Jeny Staiman and you can see Jeny's Stretchy Slip Knot Cast-On on youtube too.

  • So very nice, neat and easy! Easy to follow demonstration. I used it to make baby leggings!

  • @SuperViking61 Thanks - I have a another version of this video (version 2) that uses only one needle which you might also like.

  • Thank you so much!!! I have been looking for a good stretchy cast on for years. I just could not get the hang of Jeny's method.I had a hard time pulling the knots snug and it always came out with uneven spacings. Your two needle method works perfectly! I knit continental, so I had to get used to holding the yarn in my right hand, but that was easy enough. I love this cast on. It and the super-stretchy bind off will be my "go to" methods from now on.

  • @angelique510 Thanks for the feedback on the video, if you want stretchy, you might also want to try my 'Very stretchy cast on for double and single ribbing', I use it a lot for sock and mitten cuffs.

  • Thanks so much for posting this: one thing I'm finding very hard to see is where you start the cast on at 1:42 how to pull up that loop and place it on the needle without a twist --- I wish I could see a bigger more expanded (maybe a slower version of that maneuver) But over all your video is extremely helpful --well done.

  • @knittingknut Thanks for the comments. The next bit between 2.35-2.50 show the loop being lifted more clearly with the open loop. Its not how you pull the loop through thats so important as I think you can only do this one way, but it is important to place the loop on the needle without twisting it. You will know if you have twisted it because you wont be able to bring the yarn round the back of the needle to form the slip knot and will be left with 2 stitches (or loops) on the needle instead.

  • You are my SAVIOR. Thank you so much for this.

  • @serenelife3 Glad this works for you. There are lots of ways to do this cast on and Oftroy also has 2 videos showing different ways to do it
