Watched the great Stan Jonathan play his rookie season in the IHL with the Dayton Gems, and pound for pound, he was best brawler in the league legend for scrappers. I think the fighting back in those days was better than it is now. It's gotten too technical these days, guys worrying too much about getting hit instead of trying to hit the other guy. Back then it was grab the other guy's sweater and flail away until someone is getting absolutely pummeled or they get tired out.
