The new TMNT game on XBLA reviewed poorly because it was a poorly developed cash-in on those who were hoping it would be a great redux of Turtles in Time, a beat 'em up that to this day is still unbelievably well-beloved.
The genre as a whole is dated? This conversation is over. I have nothing more to say to someone who states such silliness.
Streets of Rage IS repetitive. The whole beat 'em up genre is pretty dated...I mean, there's a reason why the new tmnt game on XBLA reviewed poorly. And I love Contra.
Still, if you guys wanna play Muramusa, whatever. I just don't see much in it.
With a game like Muramasa, one encounters new enemies with different patterns, opening up new ways to fight each of them. The combo system looks to be a means for the flashy style of combat. Besides, if hitting an enemy over and over again and moving on to the next one is repetitive, I guess that makes games like Streets of Rage, the Street Fighter series (any fighter, really), the Contra games, or any given shmup repetitive. In other words, the argument doesn't fly with me.
I don't play 300 FPSes. I play one. And no, those games aren't repetitive, at least online, because you're always encountering new patterns, new skills and new people.
Explain please. I'm curious abut what makes this comment ignorant. Of course, by general Wii Population, I didn't mean the "Brain Age moms", but there's been a lot of buzz about this game, but frankly, it looks fairly repetitive.

Well, to me it just looks like you hit people over and over, then you go to the next guy and do the same thing.

Perhaps my comment was a bit hasty and too much in the mold of what I generally want to say to all the "Wii is a toy" crowd.
Sure, it looks repetitive. There's just one problem with that statement.
ALL games are repetitive. :-P
