MY 500th VIDEO UPLOAD in MEMORY of Mr. Richard Owens

I was looking for a special video for my 500th upload, Friday night at The Woodbine Opry it came from no where. I was not felling well enough to sing, so I was sitting in the audience recording, when it came to Hoydt's turn to sing, he did a very special song for the Opry. A song that a founding member wrote and sang from time to time, Mr. Richard Owens wrote the song about the Opry and the regular pickers, it showcased the talented folks they have pickin' there every week. Mr. Richard was a great man, he treated me like I was somebody, as I'm sure he did others. I was fortunate to have known Mr. Richard for a couple of years. I think it was January 2007 he passed away, and is still greatly missed by all that knew him. HE LOVED PERFORMING ON THE WOODBIME OPRY, and I loved to hear him sing and tell jokes with the rest of "The Gang"

Mr. Richard was speciasl man. He treated me so good, like I was somebody, but I think he did that to most everyone. I never will forget, I told him a joke he and Jack could do, he said no, you and me do it. I would have much rather he and Jack, but I was so gald I was able to do it with him. I only wish I had gotten into recording videos before he passed away. I wanted to attend the funeral, but I was heading out to Tenn. the day I heard he had passed. He is still remembered at the Opry.

Also Jack and Hoydt sang this Friday night, the first night at the "NEW" audtorium, at The Woodbine Opry. I thought it was very fitting, almost brought tears remembering Mr. Richard. I do sure miss him.

Did you record or is there a video of the Friday night performance of that song by Jack and Hoydt or did anyone else record that. We would like to see it very much.

I think TIm recorded the whole show, get with Hoydt, he can put you intouch with Tim. Should be able to get you a copy. THey had already started the song before I knew what was going on. I wish I had it to post.
