  • what make is the one you said was about £60 and where the best place to look for one?

  • Here is a direct link to the free software:

    Hope this helps! :)

  • It's a shame really because it is certainly 'NOT' illegal in the UK to have the ability to change your unit settings. It is however, depending on your licensing, ilegal to transmit on some frequencies. This choice is down to the user, so Mitex have nothing to fear by providing the software as a download item from their website. Crazy really!

Anyway, it must be said that these Mitex radio's are rather excellent. I own 4 and they are used daily without issues.

  • This is why the SFE S-820 software works with the Mitex.

If you look at the marketing sheet for the SFE S-820's, it states PC PROGRAMMING, an they give the programming software away free.

Mitex have for some reason excluded this option from their marketing and make no information available concerning the re-programming of Mitex radios.

  • @archeryuk The Mitex radio range seem to be re-badged SFE S-820 walkie talkies from China.

Here's the link for you to look at: alibaba.com/productgs/479594445/Portable_SFE_professional_two_way_radio.html

  • One would think KooDooUK works for Mitex and created his Youtube account yesterday to comment on this thread lol (just kiddin).

Seriously though . . . KooDooUK is right about the mis-leading information regarding the price, But £150 as a twin pack is still more expensive than 2 x m6pcg's radio's costing £60 for a single unit.

  • Your units should be set to narrow band not wide! Maybe there is a glitch in the software as the units we have are all set to narrow as they should be for the UK. Also you should point out that it is highly illegal to programme 5 watt units to 446 even though you can with some software. The only other thing to point out is the price, we paid £150 for a twin pack with a full UK warranty which is two radios making them about the same price as the ones you like. Useful Vid but a little misleading.
