If this took placed today PeTA would gotten after the King! & The term "The King is a Fink" was later used in the comic strip "The Wizard of Id". & wasn't that the Original "Ugly Betty" that was shown there?? (The Princess's name was Betty)
The actual title of this one is "The Enchanted Fly", originally seen on "ROCKY AND HIS FRIENDS" in 1960. Jim Backus never appeared in ANY of Jay Ward's productions: it was Daws Butler as the "King" (using his patented "Charles Butterworth" impression- Butterworth was a known character actor in the '30s who sounded "dithery"- later utilized as "Cap'n Crunch").
You should watch the Animaniacs cartoon "Turkey Jerky", at one point the antagonist is shrunken and has to run away from this turkey who wants to eat him, causing him to exclaim various things including "Gadzooks!".
The King was likely voiced by Daws Butler, who did many of the Fractured Fairy Tales voices. I don't think Backus did any of them. Compare the King's voice to the various Hanna-Barbera characters voiced by Butler, or to the original Cap'n Crunch commercials, also voiced by Butler, and I think you'll hear the similarity.
