AST2006 Final France vs. Turkey

"France has won the Albert Schweitzer Tournament for the first time with an impressing 78:56-win vs. Turkey in the final.

In the first minutes the speed of France was that fast that even the very quick Turks could not stand it (9:2, 4. min.). An unbelievable"alley oop" from Alex Ajinca crowned the spectacular opening of the game. At this stage Turkey could not find anything against their opponent. But as seen in this AST more often Turkey came back strong and was back in the game. After the 1st quarter France led 19:16.

After 14 minutes Turkey took the lead, France lost its speed and concentration. Turkey played with big fighting spirit and was unstoppable for some minutes (19:26, 15. Min.). Again 500 turkish fans were very pleased with their team. At halftime Turkey was clearly in front (26:38) and on the way to denfend its title because they made almost no mistakes.

France entered the third quarter with a spectacular 12:0-run to tie the game after five minutes (38:38). Turkey could just score three points the entire quarter and was behind 41:49 after 30 minutes. France did not get into trouble anymore. A lot of spectacular action was still coming up for the enthusiastic crowd. "
