NTDTV's official YouTube Channel got taken down (AGAIN!) for some weird reason, so I thought it would be a good time to upload some of their noteworthy videos again and it's also to remind you guys that you can actually still find ALL their programming on their website: http://english.ntdtv.com - So just cause Google is probably bowing to China again doesn't mean they are gone - go visit their website, they don't only have news on human rights in China, but have 24 hour programming with live streaming.

It's been two months since the satellite signal of NTD APTV, NTD's partner company in Taiwan, was blocked. But little progress has been made by satellite owner Chunghwa Telecom Co in finding the source of the interference.
On Wednesday, Taiwans regulatory National Communications Committee—or NCC—held a second meeting to investigate the cause of the satellite signal blockage.

From September 17 to October 2 this year, NTDTVs ST-1 satellite signal over Taiwan and southern China was blocked. At first, the signal was blocked for a few hours a day, and then for the entire day on October 1, on the 60th anniversary of the Chinese communist revolution.

Last month, NTDTV presented evidence that a suspicious channel was found on the ST-1 satellite. The signal, identified as CHT, or "China Home Theatre" was detected by APTV technicians on September 23rd and 28th after NTDs signal was blocked.

NCC had asked Chunghwa Telecom Co--owners of the St-1 satellite--to explain the CHT channel. But the spokesperson for APTV says Chunghwa has yet to provide documentation on their findings.

[Zhu Wanqi, Spokesperson for NTD APTV]:
Until now, although NCC has asked Chunghwa Telecom to explain exactly what China Home Theatre is—it was the interference signal that we found on the ST-1 satellite, and we have the parameters and the name of the Channel—but today, Chunghwa Telecom did not provide any documentation to explain.

Zhu says although Chunghwa has full control of the ST-1 satellite, it hasnt been able to explain the relationship between the CHT signal and itself.

[Zhu Wanqi, Spokesperson for NTD APTV]:
Although CHT seemed to point towards Chunghwa Telecom, they havent provided any explanation to show that it is not involved. So today, the NCC, scholars and other experts have all criticized Chunghwa Telecom about this.

Qiu Wenfu, Deputy Commissioner of Chunghwa Telecoms Satellite Department, says more time is needed to clarify the issue.

[Qiu Wenfu, Deputy Commissioner of Chunghwa Telecoms Satellite Department]:
We have discussed this issue, but in fact we still have not clarified the issues. So next time, when we undertake actual technical discussions, we will clarify the problem.

The NCC says it will call a third meeting to compare data provided by Chunghwa Telecom and NTDTV.
