  • im not english can someone tell me what happened to mal loye?

  • If u have a good look , he doesn't actually "smash" the ball , rather helps it on it's way using Lee's pace.

  • I remember listening to the ABC radio and understandably most of the commentators didn't know much about Loye at that point and the English guest commentator was telling them that he slog sweeps fast bowlers sometimes, Jim Maxwell said something like "well he might have a go against Mcgrath or Bracken but he'd be pretty brave to take on Brett Lee like that" next ball BANG! Fantastic stuff.

  • unbelievable, he played only 7 odis for england...

  • he pulls that sweep almost every time

  • why did England drop him!!! Inconsistencies are bound to occur with such players, but the gains would be so great

  • Would of been great to see more of this, would love to see him do this to Shoaib, next ball would beam I reckon ;) Seriously though, sweeping any pace bowler like that is ridiculous, your not supposed to sweep against seam bowlers! Nether mind Brett Lee, one of the quickest in the world. Awesome and very brave.

  • @yorkshire2050 : yeah thats true. but now paul collingwood and others are also changing their way of batting. hope that will help england

  • wasent treated well

england always go with defensive openers

  • he is a good player. his style is like old english. but still destructive
