On the 2nd of May, Cyclone Nargis slammed into the Irrawaddy Delta region killing over 150,000 people. 80% of the people living in the affected Delta Region are Karen. The victims are now in a dangerous situation of getting infectious diseases like diarrhea, cholera and dysentery. Medical aid and supplies are urgently needed in these areas. Supplies are sent into the Delta area, and co-workers oversee the distribution. It is our hope that you will join with us during this crisis to keep this lifeline of aid alive. Delta Tears.
Currently the Red Cross estimates that over 120,000 people are dead and 2.5 million people are affected.
The biggest problem we have at the moment is that international humanitarian staff are not being allowed down into the affected area in the delta.
