Wasn't going to post this as I didnt manage to get the data but a number of people have asked to see it so here it is.

I'd started 2nd on the grid but the race was red flagged on lap 1 owing to a big crash as one car went off circuit and barrel rolled. The race was restarted as a rolling start beind the pace car.

I was caught napping on the restart and dropped back (in truth I wasn't feeling to good as was held on the grid for 18 minutes in 40deg + heat). I managed to fight my way back to 3rd.

Struggling a bit with the car being Left-Hand drive, couldn't select 2nd gear reliably) also struggle trying to heel & toe with a very wayward throttle pedal.

It was a honor to be the first UK, and probably the first western raicng driver to race at this fabulous circuit carved out of the desert in Saudi Arabia.

Video is captured on a 4-Cam Video4 setup from Race-Technology. I use this system extensively in my driver coaching where we are able to compare data & video down to minute detail to help the driver improve at a faster rate. I've been a fan of the footcam/pedalcam view since discovering the best motoring/hot version videos.

Why not subscribe to my channel for the very best onboard videos on Youtube, over 260 videos already uploaded and new ones posted every week, from race series' and trackdays all over the world. http://www.youtube.com/maxxuk

  • Bad foot work . No heal and toe !!!

  • @omarv6 - You are right, very poor heel & toe, not my usual style at all if you check my other videos. I didnt heel & toe at all from the start as was really struggling with the heat and had leg cramps. I'm from the UK and 40deg C temps are unknown, plus was held on the grid for ages oweing to a red flag. I do try and heel & toe at the end of the s/f straight (see 3:35) but the pedal was lose which made it diffilcult to impossible to do properly. I didnt bother for most corners after that.

  • How do you enter these kind of races.

  • @AlphaKingsMachinima - I was coaching a Saudi driver who entered the series, via contacts at the Reem circuit. He was unable to do this race oweing to business commitments so asked me to 'step in' in his place. There are a number of series' in the Middle-East but sadly the Lotus one does not seem to have continued.

  • Hmmm, one question mate, as you are a lotus pilot, i have to make you this question... Could you use a exige cup260 as your normal every day car ? ...what i mean is not only to race or as your 2nd car. Thanks ! ...great driving !

  • @MrSoze66 - Sure, it's a little hardcore but perfectly acceptable. Biggest problem maybe heat, cant remember if these have air-con but they get very hot inside. This race was red flagged on lap 1 and we were on the grid about 18 minutes before this start and I was fading fast. I have a S2 Elise with Honda Type R engine (220bhp), full track suspension etc. and I use that regularly on the road.

  • get rid of the foot camera pease

  • @MrSoze66 I've used an Exige as a daily driver. It sucks for picking up groceries (you can fit a pack of bottled water in the trunk, that's about it), but the fuel economy isn't bad at all. I don't remember if the Cup is taggable, but the S260 definitely is.

  • @TheAudiTTfan - Thanks :)

  • Fantastic driving!
