Steve Jobs reasoning behind the price difference is VAT. Its illegal in the UK to marlet a price that does not include Value Added Tax. Where as the US price does not include this tax. He also states without the 17% tax the ipad uk price would have been £365. Thats still $40 more than us price.

@nothingupthere Unfortunatly i do agree! :( but here in the uk EVERYTHING is a rip off! I have regrets, i had an oppertunity to have an ipad form the us as a relitive recently traveled there and they agreed to get one.. but i decided not to! NOW i do regret it! :( Its a nice device.. not a nice price! But im afraid the nicest were going to get for a long time! :)
