I used to have a 220 tomcat turbo coupe great looking car fast in a straight line but imo one of the worst handling evers ever produced had to sell it a month after buying it as otherwise i knew it'll end up being my coffin !! shame as l Iove the look of them :)

That is still a quick, and good looking car, even by today's standards.
The only problem with the T series was that it was never as tuneable as other turbo engines due to its cheap, cast pistons. Kept standard though, they are very tough. We had an 820 Vitesse Sport at work which did 140,000 miles with pretty much routine servicing only, and it still went like stink.

@gelly1985 200 bhp from a 2.0 16v turbo is fucking awful, they handle like shit and fall apart. Quality car lol

tiff shoud have never left top gear..

2.0 turbo vs a 250bhp Quad cam, 2 headed alfa romeo V6 with top end of 155mph.
i dont think so mate. i own a 213 with a 210bhp 1.8 turbo MG engine.
i dont care what any1 says amd im sure alot of people will agree that for the money the rover coupe turbo has got to be 1 of the best cars on the used car market. there s nothing that i know of that can beat the rover turbo in a straight line for the same money and power. credit to rover for producing such a great car.

morgrp, you're talking bollocks.
The K design is totally different to the T, K is a modular build, T is conventional build. T for turbo? are you stupid?
The T series is a decent, strong motor. Headgasket failure ISN'T common with these engines, however, some earlier units were known to weep a little oil at the front of the block, this isn't a big thing however as the amount lost is negligible, and is not a sign of HGF.
Get your facts straight before you post complete tripe.
