miercuri 29 aprilie la Biblioteca Municipala "Radu Rosetti" din Onesti a avut loc un frumos recital de canto "Retorici timbrale" cu soprana Gabriela Pepelea, acompaniata la pian de Mihaela Spiridon
I'm not sure how Poulenc would have responded to such an odd performance of this melodie, but I am certain that Pierre Bernac is spinning in his grave. This is what I refer to as a "willful" interpretation, along the same lines as Anne Sophie-Mutter's highly personal and "flexible" way with a Beethoven sonata. Can you imagine Regine Crespin or Elly Ameling doing this?
This is my favorite interpretation of this song that I've found on youtube, even though it does not adhere strictly to the notated song. I wish the singer would re-record it because it needs (IMO) corrected pronunciation, no (or few) camera zooms, steady camera in any case, and high audio recording quality. But I would not want to change the musical liberties that this singer takes. I think the pauses are gorgeous, and match the poetry. Beautiful voice, compelling performance. -- thank you!
I liked it so so much! Bravissima!!!
