The Holy Spirit is GOD's spirit, not a separate person. GOD the Father and Jesus his Son. (1 John 2:22-23) Perhaps this is how it is.... Just a thought.

The scripture says (Psalms 34:8) O taste and see the Lord is good; blessed is the man that trusteth in him. God is a good God and he loves us though we are sinners and died for us.

Thank the Lord, that on that day (crucifiction) GOD treated Jesus like he was me, deserving of death and now God treats me as His Son that I may live! Amen

Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

World in this verse means the unsaved. If Cornelius was not baptized according to UPC theology, then they were part of the world and unsaved, hence not able to recieve the Holy Spirit. Their theology does not fit the Scriptures. However, I do know a 'Jesus only' and do indeed to consider him a brother in Christ.

...to present and past participles of greek grammar is absurd. Maybe just maybe it is written as God intended. That God is multi-faceted, but singular nevertheless. That God is God, and there is no dividing Him. And that I peter 3:20 compared to Acts 2:38 seems pretty clear.

I am not discounting the Greek, but this idea puts that over the last 2000 years all those who didnt know greek grammar may be practicing false doctrine due to uneducation. Nonsense.

I have one major probelm with this fellow always refering to Granville Sharp, and AT Robertson and so on....what of all the peoples who will never handle study or be conversational in Koine Greek Grammar? Did God make His gospel so counfounding that it would take a scholor to grasp it? Jesus came to preack to the bound, broken, captive, not the scholars...they were the Pharisses/Saducces.

To assume that this gospel which God knew would get preached the World over would be hammered down...cont.

@DonJay777 This is true. It is the Holy Ghost that leads and guides us in to all trues. But many say the holy spirit is showing me TRUTH and they don t have the Holy Ghost like they did in the book of Acts. They simple recieve the holy spirit in Faith. Thats not the book of Acts , they recieved the Holy Ghost with TONGUEs, as the Spirit gave the utterance. Hope this is Your exsperience with GOD. ACTs 2-38
