I LOVE this commercial. :-) It's funny but behind the humor there is a LOT of TRUTH to it. I've had 5 children and I can REALLY relate to it. Especially when the children are young, they require SO MUCH of a mother's attention that you DO forget about yourself. Back then I could care LESS how I looked as long as the baby was taken care of. And when I had TWINS??? LOL, forget about EVERYTHING after that! :-) Thanks for posting.

You know what? I'm pro-life, but I believe that there are many people who have kids for selfish reasons, and should be stopped. Like the 12 year old who "wanted someone who would unconditionally love them". Where are her parents?? Don't make me get all Dr. Laura now! ;) I think that it can go both ways, though.

Kids require time money, time, emotional stability, etc. Realizing that you are not ready to offer that to a child is NOT selfish.
You should be honest as well. Yes, parents who give their children food, resources and a good home are selfless.
But having kids in itself is not a selfless act if the person doesn't not have resources and makes the kid grow up hungry or neglected.

That doesn't really answer the question of "why"? Most people don't want kids because it interferes with what they want to do in life (travel, career, etc)...hence, they are thinking more of themselves then a little person...hence, selfish. It's not bad, bit please be honest and call it what it is. Having kids is the most selfless thing you will ever do.

Whenever my dog hears this commercial he immediately stops what he's doing.. runs up to the tv and stares at it with his head cocked. hahaha i think it annoys him.
