Grr... I am so mad right now, you have no idea. I absolutely hated having to cut this profile into two parts. @DonnieTsushiro Even still it wouldn't kill her to learn a few spells so she wouldn't need to be saved all the time. And she's an idiot to show Koga mercy despite the fact he almost got her killed and just wanted her to get more jewl shards. And she should of just stayed in her time period in the first place if she didn't want anything to do with the stupid jewel anymore.

@DonnieTsushiro I don't hate Akane, but I'm not crazy about her either. It's Kagome that has most of my hatred. I can agree that she's not a mary-sue, she does have mary-sue like qualities. The number one reason I dislike her is because she needs a romantic interest to define most of her character. Don't worry, I don't take disembodies internet comments that seriously. I just like stating an opinion.

@DonnieTsushiro This also has to be the greatest discussion I've ever had with someone about a character. I wish to thank you for being such a great opponent in regards to Kagome. I find myself, at the present time, incapable of defending her as well as Akane. I hope you didn't take this whole thing personally or think of me negatively because of it. I think both characters are well rounded and deserve at least some praise here and there, especially Akane who has to put up with so much. Thanks!

@DonnieTsushiro from those failures as a result. Also, I actually haven't read all the manga or watched the entire anime but i've seen the greater part of the series. Kagome's growth best showed itself in terms of her combat ability, remember how she started firing more arrows later on than at the start, and as you said as a romantic interest mainly in her dealing with Kikyo who i also love and InuYahsa. She was willing to save Kikyo after wishing her dead all the way back in season 2 i think

@DonnieTsushiro talk about. I just felt that Akane wasn't really getting anyone to defend her on this page and I think she deserves more appreciation than that. As for Kagome, yeah she's a love interest and a plot device but i dont think she's a mary sue. There's a difference between calling a character a mary sue because you dont like them and a character actually being a mary sue. Remember that mary sues dont have flaws as people and thus never fail. Kagome fails plenty of times and learns

@Makilore ...i guess you've got a point there. Every character has good and bad points, and i guess it's up to us fans to be able to spot them and argue about them. Personally, i like both Akane and Kagome and Shinobu and Lum. I like most everything about them, save for Kagome's lack of clothing practicality and Akane's jealousy but think about it this way. Would we be able to engage in these heated discussions about them without those aspects that we hate? If anything it gives us something to
