Sounds like Jimmy Dorsey on clarinet. Could be Don Murray.

I was 28 when this song came out. I remember the women wearing heels and silk stockings, flappers, men in suits, and no bad music like today.

Some think it's Andy Sanella on clarinet.

Cliff Edwards was from Missouri, and his lyrics are closer to history than most lyrics for this song are: he got the city that "Stag" Lee Shelton killed William Lyons in right, he nearly got the street right, and he got the fact that Lee Shelton wasn't particularly lower class right. (Cliff was six months old when it happened. Shelton worked as a carriage driver, and he wasn't gambling when the argument started, he was debating Democrats vs. Republicans with Lyons.)

I love this you would never be able to play this today and have it appreciated. were to politically correct for great works of art like this now
