Rolfe2009, you are right about Christian Bale, but do not forget Melissa Leo. They both gave the best performances of the year, and they both should be displaying their oscars side by side at the press conferences and post show parties.

Christian Bale gave the best performance of his career in my humle opinion!
Sooooo deserves the Oscar! Heck he deserved at least a nom for Empire of the Sun, A .Psycho, The Machinist, Rescue Dawn, Harsh Times, The Prestige and 3:10 to Yuma!
Bale as Dicky made the movie stand out, he was brillant, mesmeriing, charismatic and
magnetic! You could no take your eye off of him eerytime he was on screen!

Garfield has no chance in ACTOR, but in SUPPORTING. Brolin is very unlikely, too. Where's Melissa Leo? She's a sure-nominee. Otherwise, great work.
