Farley Mowat is still berthed in Canada pending sale or salvage.

Way to go Canada! Been easier to sink it with all hands on board and provide artificial reef .....then them hippie sumbags would be useful for something....fish food.

If the sea shepherd is going to these extents to prevent the northern canadian population to practice the culture that they have always practiced, Should we not stop the rest of the world from eating chicken, beef, ham, fish, pork, turkey and so on? Unfortunately it's how the world works, never has there been a time on earth when living organisms have not hunted and eaten one an other. I'm curious why the seals have been singled out in this case.

I am Canadian, and I am ashamed to say that my country and the STUPID MOTHERFUCKER of a prime minister i.e. STEPHEN FUCKED UP HARPER is doing nothing about brutish torture and killing of animals.
They're all set to make a big deal out of inhumane treatment of pets at at the Toronto Human Society, where is the law in this case? Aren't the seals being murdered and killed in cold blood? WAKE UP FUCKING HARPER, I'm definitely NOT voting the CONS.

Each side believes they are right, and partially are, however the problem is the extremity that the situations arise to. Hunting for food has been the way things are since the beginning of man, and it's the way things will be. i'm not saying I enjoy the reality of the food chain, but people need to feed their families, and keep warm, and in certain cultures, Seal is part of that.

So according to your logic, why don't we all go bison hunting in Manitoba and skin the animals for furs to keep warm, instead of going to Sears or The Bay and buy a $50 coat? Whatever 'culture' you're talking about is most certainly repulsive if not outright violent. We Canadians brag about being peace loving and whatnot, where does our government's accountability towards prevention of cruelty to animals go in the most sensitive cases?

What a hot topic this is. This shows the duality in man. Each side clearly believes they are right.

But, if I had to choose between a wool coat and a fur coat I would choose wool and eat a carrot instead of seal or whale meat.
