WHERE do you live?! the weather and nature always looks so PERFECT! i'm so jealous! i live near boston.. i get to watch.. pavement. and trash. mm.

indeed, white herons have orange legs. Egrets have black legs.

wow!
nature is amazing!
personally, that is my proof of reincarnation. the spirits of heron and snake were originally taught by the god/dess and after it's body dies it comes back in another body, the heron knows hoe to capture the snake, and the snake knows how to delay his demise. this is called "instinct" appearently and animals are supposed to know exactly how to live and take care of themselves as if by magick.....oh, wait a minute...

that's an egret not heron...just thought i should point that out. Great vid though ^_^

Haha! He did! He ate the snake. That was wild. Personally I have a dislike for snakes, tho I respect them as creatures of nature. The heron did a little victory strut, a flap, and a glide. How funny, there at the end he's voicing his trimuph! LOL What a great area you have there to relax in. Thx 4 sharing. BB.

When I was little, maybe 5 or 6, I saw a cat kill and eat a mouse. I was devastated, horrified, and I ran to my mom, told her what happened, and was crying buckets. She told me that that's just how life works. She pointed out that this way, the mouse died for a purpose, to give food and life to another animal, rather than senselessly, like getting hit by a car or something. So take heart, gorgeousbutterfly.
Joy and blessings,

either way, i wouldn't like it too much if my food bit me! lol!

Ahhh! I don't like snakes! They scare me! Bless that bird!

There are many different type of snakes. It would only be dangerous if this was a poisonous snake but it seems this was a constrictor, the way the snake wrapped its body around the beak, so its bite is harmless.
This is too funny. I posted a shot of an egret killing and eating a sea snake earlier today...

My boys had me repeat the eating part a couple of times. My youngest was surprised that it ate the snake like a noodle. My daughter says hi!
