This is an awesome Antique otis elevator a the Masonic Temple in Sturgis MI. It is COMPLETELY original and probably dates back to the 1930-40s, Notice that on the alarm bell it says "alarm" instead of "emerg Call" I will say it stops with one of the biggest bumps I have ever felt though, worse than the Salem elevator

  • @hwyfan Danville, Virginia? My favorite TV show is set there. It's a disney show. PM me with the name if you know it

  • They have an elevator just like this one in the Williamson County Admin. Office Bldg., which used to be a hospital. It's completely original from the 1950s and is still hospital-size. It has the antique black buttons and roto-dial indicator on the call button. However there is no interior indicator. And, it was installed by my favorite elevator company...

    ...OTIS!!!!!!!

  • I'm surprised an old elevator can carry 2,000lbs worth of people.

Most modern elevators can only carry a combined weight of 300lbs.

  • Do you know how that mechanical floor indicator works (in the lobby)? Does it use some electric signalling in any ay, or is it purely mechanical?

  • and, don't you ever get these weird looks form people?

  • Why is even called a "hobby", and why do you enjoy it so much, cause it's kinda creepy....

  • Whats the oldest elevator you been on? And how did you like it ?

  • You need to check out the elevators in the old masonic building in downtown Danville, Virginia. They are manually operated with a lever.

  • Hey DieselDucy! You should try to get the old elevator at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. I have controlled it myself while on a tour.
