Ever wanted to know where Moodymann got the sample for his "Black Mahogani" track? Look no further.. Here it is in it's full glory. The track is taken from one of hist rarest albums on New York Int. records called Discosymphony. Although Murphy is known for his disco and classical music mixture, the rest of the album is just that with upbeat disco rhythms. But this track is completely different from the rest.. slow, Bob James kinda track.. and ultimately the best one of the whole album.
No wonder why Kenny Dixon took use of it.

Is quite rare and if you find it you might have to pay a bit. Currently one copy available on Discogs for 75 USD. No CD of this exist.

  • Yay found one! took me forever.gotta love rock dudes who hate disco 10$..such a killer tune

  • @m100p Moodymann is not racist at all.

  • And "they say" Moodymann is a racist yet some of his music that he sampled is from Caucasian artist.

  • Moody :)

  • I'm really sorry for the only idiot who does not like this song

  • @russstwin1 You're correct, but this is less "disco"-y then those two; it's more orchestral and jazzy as opposed to danceable. There were a few others done in the style of those two though: "Russian Dressing" and "Night Fall" from his first album, "Rhapsody in Blue", "It Ain't Necessarily So", and "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" from his second, "Toccata and Funk" from his third, and every other song on this album.

  • @0Imtheslime0 This uses Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun as a base, so it would be in the same style of A Fifth of Beethoven and Flight '76 when it comes to mixing classical music and disco. Still a very nice piece of music and much appreciation for uploading.

  • DAYUM! Dis some PIMP SHIT!!
