I'm not saying that this is not a problem but ffs it's not amagedon. It's really hard to predict the future it's insane. If people in the year 1900 would have to predict the future with the same computers we use today. They wouldn't be able to predict a shit. Like ww1, ww2, the tecnical advancement etc etc etc.

When I took Calculus I back in 1976 I heard and learned just what this professor is saying now. It is not a conspiracy nor is it the government's fault. It is simple math, the amount of time that humans will last on the earth is limited. The unfortunate part is that modern day Republicans and Tea Party members are opposed to education since that often, not always, leads to critical thinking. And as the Catholic Church learned in the knowledge is power or ignorance is bliss.

At 8:06 minutes he addresses your complaint " we cannot let others do our thinking for us." It is not the government's fault that *you* never took Calculus I. It is your fault. Until we start taking responsibility for our collective actions we have nobody to blame but ourselves.

It's not the government or some secret elite, it is ignorance and the lack of critical thinking that has "doomed" us to oblivion.
