Here's a quick video I made to see what the image stabilizer of the Olympus E-P2 does when the camera is turned off and when the camera is shaken as it exposes the sensor. Keep in mind that there's very, very little movement when the IS works, so you have to look carefully; try the upper left-hand corner area of the sensor as you might see a little motion there (roughly around 0.5mm). Video was shot with my Casio EX-F1 set to 1,200 frames per second. And yes, that is one of my tracks off of my album Just Listen; please check it out on CD Baby, iTunes, Napster or Last.fm. Yeay!

  • nice demo :)

  • @MrPlaystationboy Thank you!

  • Great photography work! Do you have images of lenses from Canon with their image stabilizers in operation?

  • @meltdownman1 Thanks! Unfortunately I don't, although if the image stabilizer is in the lens, then that internal mechanism may be difficult to film; if at all possible. But I happened to find a video that shows a Canon lens which has been cutaway (you'll have to remove the spaces and add the dot for this link to work though): h t t p : // gizmodo "dot" com / 5163783 / how-optical-image-stabilization-lenses-work-jiggle-jiggle
