The oil is currently sitting at just under 42 dollars per barrel. The prices fell overnight after US economic data released indicated a decrease in demand. But despite a slump in the price of crude oil during the second half of last year, Royal Dutch Shell still managed to post a record 31 billion dollars profit for 2008.
