Russia's lower house of parliament, the State Duma, is expected to reject a plan to change the country's media laws on Friday. The amendments suggest giving the authorities more power to close down news outlets if they commit acts of libel or slander. Although journalsts and politicians agree that the current law is out of date, they say the proposals would seriously violate press freedom.

  • @J1Goro

    WTF ...Are you drunk ?

  • This is a joke, Th russian government already owns the press, Why do they pretend that they still have a free press??????????

  • Sadly, America does not have a free press as it does not talk about zionism or Aipac.

  • Time to bring freedom of the press back to Russia, a free media is esstensial to a healthy democracy.
