an extract from the first part of the oratorio "sedecia, re di gerusalemme" by Alessandro Scarlatti (1706)

I'd already posted this video but i converted it in 16/9 (thanks mehdi!) so I'm sorry for maha who had added a comment.

recitativo "tanto sperar d'eggio"(sedecia, ismaele, nadabbe)
aria ismaele "del mio col nel più segreto"

There are many differences between this live performance and the CD.
But I think this one is more interesting and...more "perilous" for Jaroussky. =)

philippe jaroussky (ismaele)
gerard lesne (sedecia)
joseph Cornwell(nadabbe)

  • can you post

    aria caro filgio

    because it is awesome

    like a lullaby

    i love that aria

    my favorite aria

  • yes of course! I wanted to post it today!

  • I can't find the libretto for this oratorio so, if anyone could tell me where I can find it, it would be fantastic!

  • By the way, Lise, this is not Mark Padmore (like in the recording), but Joseph Cornwell. The other difference between recording and live performances (in Royaumont and Ambronay) is Raimonds Spogis as Nabucco (live), instead of Peter Harvey (studio).

  • merci pour les rectifications mehdi! je corrige ça de suite.

quant à gérard lesne, on dirait qu'il est un peu écoeuré...lol
