Questo straordinario artista non dà il meglio di sè in quest'opera. Mi sembra una interpretazione di scarso rilievo.Evidentemente non si può eccellere in tutti i repertori.

Io trovo che DFD sia un cantante di gran classe.

Apparently, I only know bits of Rigoletto, but it sounds very nice. I always try to really work with an opera, to know it absolutely by heart before I say, that I really really like it. Otherweise it's only superficial... that's what I think... I don't know much about Fischer-Diskau's Repertoire... But maybe you just look on amazon wether there's a recording of Rigoletto with him?

My Favorite Opera Is Rigoletto, I am not sure Fischer Fieskau sang the role, but I have seen a video of him singing the arias with piano. I love Tosca, that is another favorite of mine. You are right, we are losing baritones

Haha. ^^ What is your favourite opera? Mine is Tosca and I also like the part of the baritone (Scarpia) very much. That is the reason why I fell in love with opera, Tosca and Scarpia duets... Have you heard of Ruggero Raimondi? --> My favourite bass-baritone? He's great. Tito Gobbi of course. Fischer-Dieskau... Sadly, many great old baritones don't sing anymore... But we still have Raimondi, thank God!
