This is a brief explanation of a Bireli Lagrene style microphone setup for an acoustic guitar, built by Jason Cook.
The mic is a SHURE Beta 98/s.
The preamp is a SABINE FBX Solo.
The eq is a DTAR Equinox.
The amplifier is an AER Compact 60.
You can get heavy duty hairpins at beauty supply stores, just bend them to fit on the guitar and fasten the mic and cable to the hairpin. In this case the mic and cable are attached to the hairpin using heatshrink.

  • I found this fairly informative but I have questions about the details. Like bossanovaman, I'd like to know what the pre-amp and amps are, and also where to find the costumer's pin.

  • Very nice addition to youtube. Very professional. Thank you for sharing. Where did you get the costumers hair pin? Nice video and nice tone on your guitar. Did not catch the source for your amplication. What type of amp is this? Thank you.

  • Thanks for sharing this.

  • Great sounding guitar.
