  • Re: Gary "Budd" Sexsmith in Winnepeg. It was unfortunately very common for Eatons to hire incompetent staff all over Canada. Once hired they were never fired. If the truth be told the entire Eaton family (who ran the business) were grossly incompetent, had no retail or merchandising savvy and frankly cared more to spend their millions on yachting and parties than run their great grandfather's (Timothy Eaton) business. They closed because they didn't keep up with the times. RIP Eatons.

  • If anyone who worked at the downtown Eaton's store in Winnipeg can explain how someone as incompetent as Gary "Budd" Sexsmith could have lasted for 35 years.

It must have been great spending your days drinking coffee, playing VLTs, getting your hair cut all on company time.

  • No candles on Quebec?! Allez-donc chier tabarnac! ;-)

J/k, I miss Eaton, as well as Woolco, Miracle Mart, Simpsons etc...
