Easy question. Matthew MacFadyen. His portrayal finally made Darcy likable. You could see snippets of vulnerability. His internal struggle over his feelings for Lizzie are evident very early on.

Would always pick Elliot Cowan but colin firth is a very close second. Matthew macfadyen wasn't very good but the chemistry between him and Keira was there, the only plus side to him

Colin Firth fit closer to Jane Austen Mr. Darcy, so handsome, proud and aloof. Yet Elliot Cowan showed the passionate side we craved. I wish I could take the best of both and make the perfect Mr. Darcy!

I've never seen Elliot as Darcy before so I need to see the film in order to get a right opinion. Neverthless I love Matthew 's performance at all.There's a vivid tension and feeling between Keira and M. so different to the controlled behaviour of Colin and Jennifer. Even if Colin's performance is closer to Jane Austen's description. Of course we are talking about a fiction not a literary work
