Purpose of My Life

The purpose of my life is to embrace its beauty and enjoy living it.

For the curious or inevitably confused: This video was originally uploaded in September 2008 called "CARPE DIEM". It's my favorite video I've ever produced, and I felt it rang true with my life right now. Considering the fact that I only had 2,000 viewers when I uploaded, I figured I would re-upload for those who feel the same as myself. The purpose is not to live in denial and walk the same path your whole life; the purpose is to see it, learn from it, and enjoy all that the natural world can teach you.

Concerning future "gogreen18"/atheist videos:
I will only be uploading a few more original videos to this channel, if that, then I will be moving on I think. I started this when I first came out as an atheist. I needed it to cope, to learn, and to fill my own shoes. I think I've done that now, and I'm going to be furthering other adventures in my youtubeing (lacigreen and another academic one possibly). I will continue living my life as an atheist with the same passions I've expressed. I may or may not do a final video covering this once I figure out what I want :)

Give an example of something in your life you do not owe to science?

Your ideologies and theologies are dying no religion is growing except for an expanding population they are all shrinking as a proportion of the whole population. We see on the internet (a scientific achievement) the desperation of these dying ideologies, like a man drowning and clutching at a floating straw. Let people talk freely and as questions will be asked askes, answers will have to stand up to a lot of scrutiny and evidence will be asked for.

Give an example of something in your life you do not owe to science? Remember naturally our average age of mortality is 27 and most die before they are 5. And if you do manage it, compere that thing to all the other things in your life that relieve suffering and bring happiness to us. Oh and don’t forget the extra free time we have to ponder the big questions.

I understand the comfort of religion and the purpose it gives you. I also understand how it makes you feel ashamed to be yourself.

My life has been much greater and more fulfilling ever since I became an Orthodox Christian. I am a former agnostic. Seeing the beauty and mystery in the world is one reason why I knew God was real. After one of my good atheist friend's committed suicide because he felt life had no meaning, is when I realized that life had to have meaning. The true meaning of life is love. With no God there is no love. Love is real because God is real. Atheism is just a poison that led to the death of my friend.

Basicly that life haven't got any meaning other than what you make of it, which isn't good enough for apparently almost the entire human population.

I hate when Creationists say that your life is pointless if we accept that we Evolved "by chance". First thing, Evolution is not by chance, just the opposite, and you don't need to go that far to know your life was by an extremely slim chance. At conception, you out of millions created an embryo to develop. Does that make your life pointless? No, if you want to do something with our life, than it has purpose. Nothing else is relevant.
