Good video. You should mention that the defender should first try to stay in the center (which you did), but then as soon as he's kicked from the center, he will seek refuge in the wrong corner of the board (opposite to your bishop's colour), which you implicitly said. I think the goal here is to understand what defender is trying to do, and then stop him from achieving his goals while achieving your checkmate. It's really frustrating to play, but nicely done in your video!

Hey Man, I don't know why someone is complaining. That was helpful. 31 moves is good. I think the most moves, if your opponent is wiley, is 35 moves. There are no shorter mates than that unless you set up a favorable starting position for yourself, so your example is about as good as it gets.

Thanks verry much for this tutorial but am I the only one to find this mat verry hard even though I checked the tutorial at least 10 times ????
P.S 1kingconan, I, too, wonder how good you are?

Me and a friend ran into this situation a few nights ago playing chess. Its good to have an explanation on how to do this mate. And whatever reason 1kingconan thinks you need to practice more just to teach this is beyond me - its a great tutorial. There is so much garbage on youtube that nobody should really ask for more than this. Thanks.

I suppose "good" is a relative term. Am I a master? Not even close. I'm a class player, almost exactly average as far as tournament chess players are concerned (~ 1600).
I'm never sure I understand people's insistence of criticizing those who contribute to the knowledge of the community. People asked for the setup to this mate, and I provided it.
I'm curious now: how good are YOU?
