There is gender issue in this song, it shows great grateful to Taiwanese/Chinese daughter, often who is unmarried.
Women play the role that supports the family, and they are taught to be that, in particular when they are nearly marriageable age. Quite often again, the daughters have learnt to place their family at the first priority other their own career, affection.
People could critique and argue there are gender inequality. But this song is to attribute daughters devotion to their family
